Why is this Yarchei Kallah Different?

The Shivti Yarchei Kallah is unique in that it strives to emulate the yeshiva-style of Iyun HaTorah, by toiling in learning the actual sources of a sugya, and working it all the way through to the modern-day application of the practical Halacha.   While the shiurim are an integral part of the Yarchei Kallah, the main focus is on the actual chavrusa-style learning.

PROGRAMMING INFORMATION

Program details

Program begins on Motzei Shabbos with an opening-Pesicha shiur.

This year’s shiur will be given by our scholar in residence Rav Asher Weiss from Yerushalayim.

The next two days (Sunday and Monday) are divided into morning and afternoon learning sedorim.

Each morning, a brief “opening shiur” introducing the limud will be given by Rabbi Yosef Kushner.

Following the shiur, participants break off into pairs of chavrusos for the seder limud. At the end of the seder, an in-depth shiur is delivered by one of the Magidei Shiur.

On Monday afternoon, a comprehensive halacha shiur will be delivered by one of the Magidei Shiur carefully structured to highlight all practical aspects of the sugya.
